On-line determination of the trace amount of cobalt(II) in real samples by flame atomic absorption spectrometry method after pre-concentration by modified polyvinyl chloride

Abstract This work reports a simple and sensitive on-line solid-phase extraction system for the pre-concentration determination of trace amount Co(II (ions by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). method is based on retention cobalt ions with polyvinyl chloride modified 3-(2-thiazolylazo)-2,6-diaminopyridine in mini-column system. The retained Co(II) were eluted 1.0 mol L −1 HCl, direct aspiration to (FAAS) an accurate it. important experimental parameters such as solution pH, length column (adsorbent mass), sample flow rate, solvent eluent, type concentration co-existing ion effects investigated detail optimized. Under optimum conditions, calibration graph was linear over range 2–150 µg 10.0 mL solution. interassay precession (n = 6) 1.8–5.2% at levels 10.0, 50.0, 100.0, 140.0 . limit detection enhancement factor 1.3 40, respectively. applied different real samples tap water, waste vegetable, fruit, drug satisfactory results.
